Gorgeous vintage makeup compact purse is shiny gold brass with an iridescent abalone inlay on one side. The purse has a gold chain strap and the top has a push-button latch. Inside is a hinged mirror on one side that flips open and can hold cash, credit cards, etc behind it. The other side of the compact has a latched compartment that holds powder and a makeup puff, an open compartment with a removable brown and beige stitched fabric envelope, and the outside pocket has a small brown tortoise comb. The compact also comes with a pop-up gold brass refillable lipstick tube.
Please note that there are some signs of wear and use to the purse - the powder compact compartment is stuck and cannot be opened, but the puff inside can be seen if you peek - however, we don't know the status of the powder or the puff inside. The removable fabric envelope has a slot and an opening that maybe used to hold a nail file or some other similar beauty tool, but is now missing. The lipstick tube does have the remains of a used red lipstick inside, but this can be removed and cleaned out and filled with a new tube for use. The purse also has a slight powdery scent to it, most likely from the makeup inside. There is no branding information to be found, but similar pieces were sold in the 40's-60's, and one of the more popular companies to create these was Elgin American. A beautiful piece overall in need of some TLC. It's perfect for any special occasion though, and a unique piece for a bride to use on her wedding day!

All items come from a smoke-free, chemical-free, and pet-friendly environment. We do have one shop cat but she is terrible at wrapping so we don’t usually ask her for her help! Our inventory is also stored in a room that she does not have access to, but since cat hair can possibly be transferred from our clothing please let us know if you have allergies or sensitivities to cats and we will take extra precautions.
